 Northfield Brook Ward

Northfield Brook rates as the number 1 of the top 20% most deprived areas in the UK.

To the west of it lies the main city sewage works, to the north, Blackbird Leys, with which it shares high levels of deprivation. 9% of the residents are on incapacity benefit. 25% of the population of this ward are on benefits overall (including 285 families). 41% of the population is aged 50 or older. There are 115 lone parent households in the ward: no lone male parents are employed, while 18.52 of the females are in full-time jobs and 22.22 in part-time (latest available statistics 2007): oxfordshireobservatory.info.

Northfield Brook Ward is dominated by the Kassam Football Stadium. It also contains a wetlands project, in the care of the Oxfordshire Community Land Trust.
