 Littlemore Ward

Littlemore Ward occupies the further south-western corner of Oxford City Council's area. It lies to the west of Backbird Leys and to the south it borders the Oxford county area of Sandford on Thames. To the northwest it adjoins Rose Hill. The area straddles the southern bypass, affecting cohesion in planning and services.

This area has high levels of deprivation, as with Oxford's south-west region in general. Its position as 11th up from the most deprived SOA in Oxfordshire [i.e. in 20% most deprived nationally] has not changed from 2004 to 2007. One-third of its residents are unemployed. The ward has problems of low income, poor health, and disability problems. 29% of homes have one or more occupants with limiting long-term illness, slightly higher than Oxford shire in general. The most significant issue is the low level of attainment, in education and training.

The housing rateable values are in Band C and D, reflecting the overall neglect of this area.
